Handheld Shower Filter

If you haven’t looked at a handheld shower filter in a while, you will be amazed at the level of technological advancements in this market. The older models used to interfere with the water supply and could be hard to fit but this isn’t the case any longer. They are now extremely flexible and even if you only have basic DIY skills you should be able to fit the filter yourself.

Handheld shower water filter

Why would you invest in a shower water filter anyway? It is not as if you are going to be drinking the water. No you won’t but your children might. Even if they don’t drink the water, they are still ingesting the chlorine fumes when they breathe. Their skin will be covered in water that could contain lead, parasites and other undesirable chemicals. If your children ever complain of having itchy skin or appear to go red after a bath, you can see how their skin is reacting to the contaminants in our water supply.

Fitting a handheld shower head filter removes the chlorine and other contaminants leaving a supply of water that does what water is supposed to do i.e. nourish the skin and hair. Your hair will no longer be brittle and feel hard. Your kid’s skin will be soft to touch and any dryness or allergy like symptoms should disappear. You may also find that lathering up shampoos is easier as you are not fighting a mix of different chemicals.

Other benefits of shower head filters

The obvious benefits are the improvement in the health of your child’s skin, hair and hopefully the absence of any allergic reactions.

Some of the side benefits of using filter systems in your bathroom are the fact that the room stays clean for longer, is easier to clean and you don’t need harsh chemicals to get rid of water residue any more. You should also notice a reduction in mold or mildew if your bathroom was prone to these problems. You may even find that your shopping bills decrease as you will need to use less of your hair products such as shampoo and conditioner to keep your hair in great condition. There will be no bleaching agents in your water so if you have dyed your hair you won’t notice that your color doesn’t seem to last any time.

Some people believe that the toxins in our water supply can cause cancer. The actual evidence to support these theories has yet to be proven but in the meantime why take the risk? We cannot do a lot about the quality of the air we breathe outdoors or the water we use in the office or at work. We can do something about these conditions in our home. If we are parents, we should be doing all we can to keep our kids safe. Investing in a handheld shower filter is only one of many changes you might want to introduce into your home.
